We are a peer led community cafe, offering an all inclusive, welcoming and safe environment for local people in recovery from substance and alcohol misuse. Our doors are also open to anyone in need of social integration and support. We offer, on a weekly basis, hot food, companionship, activities and direct access to specific professional support. We have been operating for over a year now with in excess of 800 visits as a drop in service, and many regulars.using our cafe weekly.
After the initial "detox" programme with professional help ends, there is very little help in Helensburgh to support the continual battle that is faced. Peoples lives have often been decimated and need emotional and practical help to reintegrate with society. Many of the regulars of the Welcome In, find this cafe a vital tool to their recovery. Companionship and social integration are significant factors in improving the success of a persons continued recovery.
Argyll and Bute TSI will hold a drop in help session on Wednesday (10th January) from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm in the Helensburgh office at 14 Colquhoun Square. If you would like help with the stage 2 application pop in and see us (we will have a cuppa and biscuits on hand too...)
Met the group recently -a hidden gem. Run by a very dedicated team. An important group for recovery in our local area.
